Staff Highlight — Eric Eichhorst

As a young adult, Eric Eichhorst stumbled into a job in the senior living industry. Over 17 years later, he has made a career working with senior living communities and recently took on Director of Sales and Marketing at Laurel Circle.

Eichhorst graduated from Bloomsburg University located in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising/Public Relations. Directly out of school, Eichhorst found himself working in the college admissions department of a trade school.

“I began working in college admissions because I liked helping people make big life decisions,” Eichhorst says. “When I was ready to move away from this role, I wanted to find a job that brought me the same enjoyment. In senior living, I found a new opportunity to help people choose better for their lives.”

In 2004, Eichhorst took on his first marketing position at a small senior living development firm. From here, he continued to grow his skills and find opportunities within new communities. Now, after 17 years in the industry, he decided to join the Laurel Circle team.

At Laurel Circle, Eichhorst will be managing the four-person marketing department and will be helping prospective residents throughout the sales process. Eichhorst is also responsible for promoting the community through public relations efforts, social media creation, and ensuring prospective residents receive high-quality tours.

“I love working with the senior population,” adds Eichhorst. “Growing up, I did not have a close relationship with my grandparents because they lived out of state. Because I did not have that senior influence in my childhood, I found a strong connection with the residents I work with. I have always felt like I belonged in the senior living industry.”

Eichhorst was born and raised in Pennsylvania and will be commuting about an hour into New Jersey for work. Pennsylvania was always the ideal place to live for Eichhorst. He explains the easy access to the beach, the mountains, and the city are a draw to stay. Also, he loves that Pennsylvania has all four seasons, and there is a constant change in the climate.

Living in Pennsylvania allows Eichhorst and his family to have an adventurous, outdoorsy lifestyle. Eichhorst, his wife, and his two daughters love to spend time at the beach or go to the mountains to hike. They even play frisbee golf as a family. Eichhorst’s parents, siblings, and nephews all live about an hour away, so he will often spend time visiting them.

When he is not spending time with family or working, you can catch Eichhorst watching a Philadelphia Phillies game or listening to live music. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Eichhorst missed attending these in-person events, but he is excited to get out to a game or concert soon.

As Eric Eichhorst joins the staff at Laurel Circle, make sure to say “hello” when you pass his friendly face. Who knows, he may even juggle for you!
